In Metarush, the game will be utilizing the $MYRIA token as the premium currency. Learn more about Myria Token here.
The core reason to have $MYRIA token as the premium currency rather than creating a new token is due to the following reasons:
Strong existing ecosystem - There are over 21k unique token holders on Ethereum mainnet, with many on Myria L2 and on centralized exchanges as well as millions of dollars worth of $MYRIA are being traded daily. These holders will have a smooth experience onboarding to the game given their token holdings and this also provides new players with a strong token liquidity across exchanges.
Value capturing - Myria Studio was created to develop AAA games on Myria’s blockchain infrastructure to drive user growth for the wider ecosystem. Allowing players to use $MYRIA to unlock additional content, drives further utility to the token. Furthermore, a token burn mechanic will be introduced. See more detail in this section.
Note that $MYRIA tokens which players can obtain are sourced via different streams of token usage in-game, such as NFT sales, tournaments, etc, creating a closed-loop economy.
